What is Life?

What is life

Have you ever pondered upon the subject, “what is the meaning of life?” At this very moment, you are balancing on a narrow ledge between life and death. You are probably oblivious to it, but there is an incredible amount of activity going on inside you. And this activity will never stop. But, somewhat unsettlingly the Universe wishes to cease this activity, in a sense it wants to achieve the state of equilibrium.

From the scientific perspective, we are glued up of billions, trillions of cells which in turn are constructed of uncountable biotic molecules that somehow emerged in tandem to form you through the product of evolution by natural selection.

So, what is the difference between you and the plushie next to you? Though this may seem like a silly or idiotic question, even the most knowledgeable people on earth have little to no idea where to draw the line between living and dead things, thus leading to mind-blowing implications. What is life? And is death a thing?

The end goal of life?

Certainly stating that the end goal of life is death is in itself melancholic and may induce existential dread in some. Take this with a grain of salt, it’s not like I know more than you about what is life and death.

According to Christianity, death is an outcome of the fall of man from an earlier state of innocence, as outlined in the Book of Genesis(An account of the creation of the world).

While in an early Greek myth, death is an outcome of an argument between Zeus and Prometheus. As a result of this dispute, Zeus creates a woman in the form of Pandora and presents her to Prometheus’ brother Epimetheus, with death being one of the outcomes of his opening of Pandora’s box, which Pandora brought with her.
Every religion and mythology have their way of portraying Life & Death. But Concerning yourself with this matter is a trivial thing.

What is the meaning of life?

Many will sell their entire life to obtain superficial things such as money, power or knowledge and will explain this as their meaning of life. But in my opinion, life is all about the challenges you encounter and the ups and downs you face, in a sense it is all about the journey rather than the destination.

Be it the nervousness before a significant event.
Or the sentiment of happiness while hanging out with friends.
Or the rush of adrenaline you experience in a game.
Or the sense of dread and distress before encountering the unknown.
Or the melting of your heart while gobbling up your favourite food.
Or the freedom of completing your exams.
Or the sense of relief after overcoming an ordeal.
Or the gush of wind you feel while loafing in the grass.
Or the euphoria of being with someone you love.

Sometimes you may also feel embarrassed because of your stupidity. But, do not feel bad about it. We are alive, after all. And being alive is pretty much a constant stream of Embarrassment.

” Everything That Lives Is Designed To End.
We Are Perpetually Trapped In A Never-Ending Spiral Of Life And Death. However, Life Is All About The Struggle Within This Cycle.
That Is What ‘I’ Believe. “

Though not to the true sense but you have
inadvertently encompassed a bit of Gita in your prose when you say that the life is a journey.
I would definitely recommend you to read Gita to understand the true value of life.
Having said so the article shows a streak of literary talent in you for which you definitely deserve commendation and praise . However you should harness the same by more reading
